Just like a scene from Men In Black Boris “The Animal” Johnson seems determined not to leave the position of Prime Minister, and to destroy what is left of the UK economy before he is dragged out kicking and screaming.
Almost 4 weeks ago johnson announced he would step down as PM after many of his Ministers resigned from their portfolios, citing the lack of leadership and scandals that had plagued Johnson since his appointment.
However, just like a turd that refuses to flush, Johnson continues to linger as the UK citizens suffer more each day.
His anti-Russian stance has forced everyday prices to soar out of control as inflation hits 9.4%. This compares with 2.5% 12 months ago and a long-term average of 2.58%.
Now with interest rates rising to 1.25% and forecasters tipping more rises this week, Johnson is now in command of the Titanic as it sails into icy waters.
“Full Steam Ahead” Johnson cries as 10 Downing Street releases his latest propaganda video of him helping train Ukrainian troops in The UK. His pitiful attempt to throw a make-believe grenade no more than a metre or 2 demonstrates how bad the UK is under his leadership.
This attempt to distract the public away from his resignation and focus them on hating Russia is the latest tactic employed by Johnson to hold on to the top job.
However the Conservatives have been manipulating politics for far too long, and Johnson’s latest attempt to manipulate the Lords’ system is the culmination of years of constitutional vandalism, during which he and his predecessors have been shameless in their appointment of Conservative party donors, rewarding them for what they did to advance a narrow party interest, not the wider public interest.
Since 2010, successive PMs have elevated nine of the party’s former treasurers, each of whom has donated at least £3 million to the party before their nomination. This has included the Johnson cheerleader Peter Cruddas, whose nomination Johnson pushed through even after he was deemed unsuitable by the independent House of Lords Appointments Commission. “Once you pay your £3m, you get your peerage,” one former Conservative party chair said.
Money talks, and nowhere more so than in the Lords. Twenty-two of the party’s biggest donors have collectively donated £54m to the Conservatives – have been made lords since 2010.
Not to mention sex scandals that have rocked the party. The latest began when Chris Pincher resigned as deputy chief whip amid complaints that he groped two men at a private club. That triggered a series of reports about past allegations levelled against Pincher and questions about why Johnson promoted him to a senior job enforcing party discipline. Pincher has denied the allegations.
It seems that the UK people will need more than “The Men In Black” and ray guns to remove Boris “The Animal” Johnson from 10 Downing Street.
