As I see more and more Western people coming out in support of Ukraine even though 2 weeks ago these same people would not be able to find Ukraine on a world map. I have decided to give a quick and easy-to-follow history that has led to the Russian Special operation in the Donbass, so more Westerners can start to understand how this complex situation evolved.

In 1990 an agreement called Treaty on the Final Settlement with Respect to Germany or for short the 2 plus 4 was signed. It was the start of the unification of Germany with an agreement that no weapons or foreign troops that could be used again Russia be allowed to enter former East Germany. (This treaty has been broken.)

Then in 1991, there was also a verbal agreement between Mikhail Gorbachev and Ronald Regan that stated that NATO would not move past the Elbe River, which begins in the Giant Mountains of the northern Czech Republic before traversing much of Bohemia (the western half of the Czech Republic), then Germany and flowing into the North Sea at Cuxhaven, 110 kilometres (68 miles) northwest of Hamburg. Its total length is 1,094 km (680 mi). The West disputes this agreement but documents and notes from the meeting have been found in the US and British archives. (This agreement has also been broken.)

In 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances was signed giving control of all Nuclear weapons on former USSR territories to Russia, with 6 clauses to the agreement.

  1. Respect Belarusian, Kazakh and Ukrainian independence and sovereignty in the existing borders.
  2. Refrain from the threat or the use of force against Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine.
  3. Refrain from using economic pressure on Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine to influence their politics.
  4. Seek immediate Security Council action to provide assistance to Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine if they “should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used”.
  5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Belarus, Kazakhstan or Ukraine.
  6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding those commitments.

The West argues that the annexing of Crimea was a breach of Clause 1. However, Russia would argue that the coup backed by the US which is also a signatory to the agreements has breached clauses 1 and 3, and just before the Russian operation in Ukraine President Zelensky stated clearly that he wanted nuclear weapons in clear violation of the entire agreement.

In 2014 a colour revolution (coup) took place in Ukraine after the duly elected President Viktor Yanukovych failed to sign an agreement to join the EU in 2013. After a long negotiation, the EU placed a clause in it denying Ukraine the right to trade with Russia. President Putin then offered Ukraine a multi Billion dollar deal which was accepted, it also included capping gas prices to Ukraine at $268 per 1,000 cubic metres (the price was more than $400 at the time) and today’s price is over $1200.

Western leaders flocked to Ukraine throwing money around to right-wing neo nazis groups including the Azov Battalion, Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and Aidar Battalion. The Azov Battalion is a neo-Nazi organisation officially recognised after the coup in 2014 its logo features the Wolfsangel, one of the original symbols used by the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich. And in 2018 the US Congress decided to officially block military aid to them.

• The Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists was started by a Marxist Stepan Bandera back in the 1930s based on The Italian Marxist ideology and in 1941 they pledged loyalty to Adolf Hitler. Historians now believe that during the occupation of the USSR by the nazis this group massacred more than 100,000 Polish civilians in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia on the Ukrainian Polish border.

• The Aidar Battalion was also created after the Western-backed coup in 2014 to fight against the Ukrainian people of the Donbass. On 8 September 2014, Amnesty International claimed that the Battalion had committed war crimes, including abductions, unlawful detention, ill-treatment, theft, extortion, and possible executions.

A taped phone call between Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and the US Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, where they are discussing who they want to lead the new government after the coup. This a clear example of interfering in an election. During the pro-western protest in Maidan western leaders arrived to stir up the protestors and then the shooting started, to this day there is no proof of who shot who.

After the coup a group of pro-Russian protestors set up a camp in Odessa in the south of Ukraine, they were eventually surrounded by the neo nazis and forced to seek shelter in a building where the neo nazis set fire killing 31 people. Yet these deaths were never shown in the Western Media. At this point, the people of Crimea held a referendum and it was agreed to join The Russian Federation (I am happy to discuss Crimea but not in this article as it is highly complex)

After the coup Biden travelled to Kiev on one of his many trips and told the government to sack the prosecutor (The same prosecutor that was investigating Hunter Biden) or the US government would not give them another Billion dollar loan, Less than 6 hours later the prosecutor was sacked

• On 7 April 2014. the regions of Donetsk and Lugansk (Donbass) announced themselves to be self-proclaimed breakaway states. Immediately fighting broke out and has continued for 8 long years killing over 14000 people. 2 meetings were held Minsk 1in 2014 and Minsk 2 in 2015. This agreement contained 12 points that were set out for peace with Ukraine taking the lead and conducting talks with the leaders of the Donbass.

  1. To ensure an immediate bilateral ceasefire.
  2. To ensure the monitoring and verification of the ceasefire by the OSCE.
  3. Decentralisation of power, including through the adoption of the Ukrainian law “On temporary Order of Local Self-Governance in Particular Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts”.
  4. To ensure the permanent monitoring of the Ukrainian-Russian border and verification by the OSCE with the creation of security zones in the border regions of Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
  5. Immediate release of all hostages and illegally detained persons.
  6. A law preventing the prosecution and punishment of people in connection with the events that have taken place in some areas of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts.
  7. To continue the inclusive national dialogue.
  8. To take measures to improve the humanitarian situation in Donbas.
  9. To ensure early local elections in accordance with the Ukrainian law “On temporary Order of Local Self-Governance in Particular Districts of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts”.
  10. To withdraw illegal armed groups and military equipment as well as fighters and mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine.
  11. To adopt a programme of economic recovery and reconstruction for the Donbas region.
  12. To provide personal security for participants in the consultations.

To this day Ukraine refuses to start talks that they agreed to in writing back in 2015, in fact in early February 2022 at the UN Security Council meeting the Ukrainian delegate stated: “We will never negotiate with them.”

(Amendment 2023)

This amendment has been added since this article was written and reflects the facts that both Petro Poroshenko the ex-Ukrainian President and Angela Merkel the ex-German Chancellor said “The Minsk agreements gave Ukraine time to build and strengthen the Armed Forces and restore economic growth.” Poroshenko stressed that this was the main task, and it was achieved.

These statements clearly demonstrate a clear intention to allow as many people in the Donbass to be killed while waiting for a peace agreement to be implemented that the West had already decided not to implement. This in its self a war crime that was committed for over 8 years.

To conclude, Yes Russia has given the republics weapons to defend themselves however statistics show that 80% of all deaths are on the Donbass side, and up to the Operation that was started last week no Russian troops were fighting in the Donbass, This was confirmed by an American who after hearing what was happening left Texas 5 years ago to fight for the people of the Dombass, Yes Russia is paying pensions and supplying water and food after Ukraine cut off access to these services. Below is a documentary about life in the Donbass.

To conclude, I would like to ask the questions.

Where were you for the last 8 years while the Neo-nazi brigades shelled shot and bombed the people of the Donbass?

Are you just naive and misinformed?

And finally, are you willing to allow the world to be controlled by neo-nazis again?
