While the West claims Russia is on its knees “Economically” and that “Russia is bogged down in the war in Ukraine.”

President Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua has authorised Russian troops planes and ships to deploy to Nicaragua for the purpose of training, law enforcement, and emergency responses.

Russian troops will carry out law enforcement duties and humanitarian aid and search missions for emergency and natural disasters.

The government had issued a decree that was published last week and was confirmed by the Russian government on Thursday that a small contingency of Russian troops will be present in Nicaragua for exchange of experiences and training.

The spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Russia Maria Zakharova told the Russian outlet Sputnik, “The measure was routine” she went on to say, “We are talking about organising this twice-a-year procedure to develop cooperation in various areas.” She noted the law also authorised troops from the United States Mexico and other Central American countries for the same purpose.

Sources from inside the White House claim this is a provocation as Ortega is a staunch ally of Russia and comes amidst the special operation in Ukraine.

This situation resembles in part the Cuban crisis in the 1960s when the US was deploying nuclear missiles in Turkey the then Soviet Union started to deploy nuclear missiles in Cuba. An agreement saw both the US and the Soviet Union pull out their nuclear missiles from both locations.

It may be that the US may start halting the shipment of weapons fueling the special operation in Ukraine as we have seen waning support for the Ukraine crisis among several EU states end the people of the US.
